The primary role of the Associate / Application Support Engineer is to handle the collection, storage, analysis, manipulation and rectification of complex geographical information which capture the company core business.
Responsibilites :
- Provide application support for GIS and GIS-related applications e.g., GE Small World, Hexagon G/Technology, Manhole Booking Systems (MBS), Plant Route Plan (PRP), Notification for Commencement of Earthworks (NCE), etc, including data rectification, data synchronization, and incident resolution.
- Monitor and respond to all system alerts and provide daily technical support in terms of troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving issues.
- Perform incident investigation and resolution, root cause analysis, and problem resolution, ensuring high availability of applications users.
- Perform any administrative tasks associated with GIS and GIS-related applications, such as user account management, log reviews, etc.
- Monitor incident and problem tickets and provide appropriate resolutions on a timely basis.
- Support all internal and external audits for GIS and GIS-related applications.
- Adhere to standard IT service delivery processes in accordance with IT policies and procedures.
- Document and update application configuration and architecture diagrams.
- Work with internal and external parties on technical solutions and solution implementations.
- Manage mini projects / Change Requests and ensure successful implementation by performing regular progress/performance monitoring.
- Ensure that all requirements are captured and work with vendor on the User Acceptance Tests specifications.
- Attend to any other reasonable duties as assigned by the GIS Manager and IT Director
Requirements :
- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft tools like Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Knowledge / Hands-on experience with GIS applications (e.g., GE Smallworld, Hexagon G/Technology, ESRI) and Web Technologies, including Magik, Java, and .Net programming languages would be advantageous.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
- Pro-active, meticulous, resourceful and strong team player.
- Able to work independently under tight schedules.
- Work well with all functional levels in the organization.
