Job Summary:
We are seeking a responsible and experienced Lorry Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, ensuring compliance with all Singapore traffic regulations, and maintaining the lorry in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Driving: Operate the lorry in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Timely Delivery: Ensure timely pickup and delivery of goods to designated locations, maintaining a high level of punctuality and reliability.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily checks on the vehicle, report any issues to the maintenance team, and ensure that the lorry is clean and in good working condition.
- Documentation: Accurately maintain delivery logs, invoices, and other relevant documentation.
- Load and Unload: Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring that items are handled carefully to prevent damage.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns during deliveries.
- Compliance: Follow all Singaporean regulations related to commercial driving, including weight limits, routes, and parking regulations.
Requirements:
- Valid Driving License: Must possess a valid Class 3 Singapore Driving License.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience driving a lorry or heavy vehicle in Singapore.
- Clean Driving Record: A clean and accident-free driving record is required.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy goods as required.
- Knowledge of Routes: Familiarity with Singapore’s road network, including major expressways and industrial areas.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of Singapore’s road safety regulations, vehicle weight limits, and parking regulations.
- Basic Vehicle Maintenance Skills: Ability to perform basic checks and maintenance on the lorry (e.g., oil, tires, lights).
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills in English/Chinese or another local language to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Work Hours: Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Forklift Certification: Having a forklift operation certification is an added advantage.
- Workplace Safety: Familiarity with workplace safety and health (WSH) guidelines relevant to driving and handling goods.
