Team overview
Our Global Structured Products ('GSP') Group acts primarily for global and regional financial institutions on a full range of transactional, advisory and project-based mandates. Transactional matters principally take the form of securities issuances linked to interest rates and derivatives, or a combination of both. Advisory matters may include issues of securities regulation.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our GSP team as a Paralegal. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to grow their legal expertise. While a law degree is not a prerequisite, we are looking for a candidate with a voracious appetite for learning and the flexibility to adapt to a specialized legal field.
Job overview
- Assist in documenting and closing out structured securities issuances, including personally managing and bringing to a successful conclusion the portfolio of structured securities issuances allocated to the individual. This would include communicating directly with clients and working with Ashurst team members.
- Maintain an index of matters opened and keep track of their status.
- Coordinate billing.
- Organize standard forms and know-how.
- Assist in preparation of template documents.
- Liaise with clients on billing / admin enquiries.
- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Essential skills and experience
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges within specialized legal fields.
- Possess the ability to process detailed information effectively and consistently, and very good attention to detail.
- Willingness to work past regular office hours as a norm, in order to be able to handle the demands of global banking clients based in both Europe and Asia.
- Must be a good team player.
- Strong English language skills are required, along with numeracy, meticulousness, diligence, and organizational abilities.
- A forward-thinking mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage a varied workload within tight deadlines is key.
- Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and deadlines is a must.
- Exercise sound judgement and have strong problem-solving skills.
