Background to British Defence Singapore Unit
You will be part of a busy fuelling (marine diesel and marine aviation fuels) and logistics services operation in a fuel depot and wharf management environment.
Your tasks
After training, you will be involved in the operation of:
- installation machinery,
- equipment,
- pipeline[s],
- handling of large fuelling hoses, and
- routine maintenance tasks on buildings and infrastructure (seperate from, or in support of, those carried out by our contractors).
- carry out other duties as required, including assisting other members of the team.
Your attributes
You must be/have :
- a good team player who is enthusiastic, self–motivated and has good problem-solving skills.
- good interpersonal skills and flexibility to changing work priorities.
- physically and medically fit,
- prepared to wear breathing apparatus and work in confined spaces (such work is normally carried out by contractors but it may be required of our staff)
- able to perform manual handling tasks and to use fixed ladders to climb tanks (so not afraid of heights).
- willing to work outdoors doing manual labour
In addition:
- Good written and spoken communication skills in English
Location
The position is based at the Senoko Oil Fuel Depot, Admiralty Road West and Sembawang Wharves.
