ABOUT THE ROLE
Become a vital part of our team as a Marketing & Business Development Officer, bringing expertise in improving market position and achieving financial growth, of the company, with understanding of marketing fundamentals. The role is responsible for, but not limited to, the internal and external marketing campaigns of Memphis, with a view to effectively communicating messages, liaising with stakeholders and building the brand of the organization. This is a full-time role based in Singapore.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Partnership and collaboration with establishments with external and internal stakeholders
· Develops marketing strategies and plans appropriate marketing campaigns to meet set business targets.
· Develops marketing budgets
· Managing the production of marketing materials, including leaflets, posters, mail inserts, flyers, newsletters and calendars
· Assisting with the development of methods for the generation of awareness through social media platforms like LinkedIn
· Support in developing marketing collaterals and platform management relating to business and department projects
· Arranging for the effective distribution of marketing materials via various media platforms
· Sourcing advertising opportunities and placing advertisements in traditional/online media
· Organizing and attending events; develops special events as required
· Conducting market research which includes member questionnaires, focus groups etc.
· Establish business development opportunities with existing and new clients, this includes but not limited to visiting clients on site, and supporting pitches
· Navigate and establish brand in cold markets and industry environments
· Develop and benchmark marketing strategies and campaigns for the company and its’ relating subsidiaries and products
· Communicate persuasively to effectively manage stakeholders
· Liaises with various other departments in the organization to ensure participation and collaboration in promotional activities
· Liaises with suppliers
· Other duties assigned related to development of marketing and communication strategies
· Performs related duties as may be required by the Manager
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimally, Higher Nitec and above in social media & Web Development, Marketing Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism or its equivalent from a recognized institution
· Familiar with design software – Adobe, AI, Figma, Photoshop, & Graphtec
· Strong interest in development of new complex design and to learn more on the marine industry
· Networking, prospecting, public speaking and presentation skills
· Computer literate
· Diploma in business administration/marketing/analytics or similar field
· Strong interest in development of new approaches in marketing and discovering business opportunities
· High interaction and servicing of stakeholders and clients in countries where mandarin language is used. Minimally business proficiency in Mandarin language
· Locations of business covered including Malaysia, as one of the company priority in the next expansion of business. In Malaysia, Bahasa Melayu is highly used. Minimally business proficiency in Bahasa Melayu language
· Use of Data Analytics
· Knowledge and experience in the shipping/marine industry OR have dealt with clients in the shipping/marine industry as this company and industry is in this field of industry
