This role reports into Head, Group Business Performance, and is part of the Group CFO Organisation. The team is charged with the mandate and objective of driving performance improvements across Singtel Group as we embark on our new strategic directives for sustainable growth.
The candidate will be responsible in leading the implementation of various initiatives, including those that would uplift the returns of the Group, streamline financial/business processes, drive revenue and cost optimization, business performance reviews, instituting new frameworks, etc. The role will also involve leading a cross-functional team of members for various projects.
The candidate can look forward to an enriching experience in partnering with multiple stakeholders (spreading across various parts of the organisation) and experimenting new ways of doing things. This is a high profile role which will provide opportunity for the candidate to interact and build rapport with Senior Leadership Team across the organisation.
Make an Impact By:
In this role, you will be responsible to lead a team to drive return on invested capital (ROIC) initiatives across various OpCos/ Regional Associates. These include but not limited to:
- Identify opportunities and develop strategies and initiatives that are aimed at maximizing ROIC and enhancing overall business performance. These would include initiatives that would drive uplift in revenue, optimize operating costs/capex or streamline financial/business processes.
- Set up squad, develop action plans, collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement those initiatives.
- Monitor and track the progress of those initiatives, with regular updates to steerco and key stakeholders.
- Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and competitors performance to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices related to ROIC optimization, and incorporate relevant insights into strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to drive alignment, change mindset and collaboration.
- Post implementation- monitor and track the progress of those initiatives, to ensure alignment and achievement of milestones and targets.
- KPI/success is measured from successful implementation of these initiatives, as well as uplifts/benefits delivered.
Skills for success:
- CFA/CPA or other Finance degree qualifications
- Minimum 10 years experience in consulting advisory, M&A, financial role, and large accounting firm experience
- Track record in finance business process improvements and performance management
- Project management skills
- Aptitude to grasp new concepts and effectively produce results
- Exceptional problem-solving skills – an analytical, innovative, and creative mindset
- Solid working knowledge of accounting concepts
- Proficiency in financial and management accounting and auditing skills, internal controls
- Strong leadership and management skills - Able to lead, guide and motivate a team to meet corporate goals and objectives.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
