Job Description
The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with tax laws, preparing and filing tax returns, and assisting in tax planning and strategy. Reporting to the Tax Manager, this role involves analyzing complex tax issues, identifying potential tax savings opportunities, and working closely with the finance team to ensure accurate tax reporting. The Senior Tax Analyst will also manage audits and liaise with tax authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review corporate income tax returns, indirect tax filings, and other related tax forms to ensure compliance with tax laws.
- Assist in developing and implementing tax strategies that optimize the company’s tax position.
- Prepare and analyze tax provisions for financial statements, ensuring accurate tax accounting in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits, responding to inquiries from tax authorities and preparing necessary documentation to support tax positions.
- Conduct research on complex tax issues, staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, and providing analysis and recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve tax processes, including the automation of tax compliance and reporting tasks.
- Work closely with finance, accounting, and legal teams to provide tax insights and support business initiatives, advising on tax implications of transactions and business operations.
- Participate in special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, international tax planning, and transfer pricing studies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or other relevant tax certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax analysis, preferably within a multinational corporation or public accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles. Experience with international tax issues and transfer pricing is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficient in tax preparation software and MS Office Suite, with effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
