Job Description:

  • Serve as a key business partner to subsidiary business leaders, as well as finance and accounting teams. Engage holistically with the organization, offering insights and perspectives that extend beyond traditional finance and accounting roles.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement strategic finance and accounting initiatives aligned with the mid-term finance group plan and regional transformation projects.
  • Establish clear and consistent finance and accounting policies and practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance organization, including robust internal controls that comply with corporate objectives and government regulations.
  • Work closely with subsidiaries Finance and Accounting Division to ensure that finance programs and policies align with and support broader business objectives.
  • Oversee and manage finance projects such as acquisitions, spin-offs, redeployments, mergers, and joint ventures.
  • Lead controllership activities, managing operational risks related to finance, accounting, treasury, and order management to ensure smooth and accurate operations.
  • Review and evaluate financial statements, reports, and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with corporate policies and statutory requirements. Analyze and recommend preventive measures to protect the financial position.
  • Lead and oversee the forecasting, budget planning, and reporting processes.
  • Manage the year-end audit process, including impairment assessments, and address audit queries to ensure timely sign-off of audited accounts.
  • Develop and implement optimized tax strategies, offering insights on tax implications and risks in support of business initiatives. Oversee accurate and timely tax filings, ensuring full compliance with corporate tax, GST, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise treasury activities, including cash management, foreign exchange, debt, and capital management. Assess and recommend optimized funding sources for cost-effectiveness, while actively safeguarding the company’s financial health through risk management and transaction analysis.
  • Provide financial advice and analysis for investment decisions, including the design of investment frameworks, industry analysis, financial modeling, and due diligence.
  • Offer guidance and leadership in developing or enhancing accounting policies and internal controls, driving operational excellence and efficiency.
  • Manage and develop finance capabilities and skills within entities and across the Asia region to increase efficiency and add value to finance functions.
  • Undertake additional value-added initiatives or ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Lead the Finance and Planning Division at entities to achieve divisional goals.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and skills development to team members within entities and other group companies in the region.
  • Set clear goals, monitor progress, and provide feedback to subordinates on their performance, ensuring continuous improvement and achievement of objectives.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Chartered Accountant (CA) designation is preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in finance and accounting, including tax, with a strong background in strategic planning and management.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the APAC region with multinational organizations, particularly Japanese MNCs.
  • Solid understanding of financial, accounting, and tax regulatory compliance in Singapore.
  • Proven experience in handling acquisitions, spin-offs, redeployments, and mergers.
  • Strong people management skills and experience.
  • Previous experience in the Manufacturing or Machinery industry is a plus.
