What you'll do:
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading multiple projects within the Technology Infrastructure team. You will be responsible for designing and constructing web-based application servers for applications and services within a UNIX infrastructure. Your ability to troubleshoot intricate application integration points will be crucial as you coordinate with virtual team members across the enterprise to deliver complex J2EE hosting solutions. - Design and construct web-based application (Weblogic Server/Portal) servers for applications and services within a UNIX infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot intricate application integration points and coordinate with virtual team members across the enterprise to deliver complex J2EE hosting solutions.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and adapt readily to change.
- Work closely with application teams deploying new applications in the Weblogic and WebSphere hosting environment(s).
- Provide on-call support and flexible working hours.
- Create documentation for troubleshooting, performance, optimisation, and remediation.
What you bring:
The ideal Systems Engineer candidate brings a wealth of experience in technical infrastructure management and engineering. With your Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent field experience, you have spent at least 8-10 years supporting Middleware products (app server) and web servers. Your extensive scripting experience in Jython, Python, YAML and Perl sets you apart from others. Your ability to troubleshoot Middleware products using various diagnostic tools is unparalleled. You are familiar with IT Service Management framework and can clearly communicate technical concepts to both business and technical management.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent field experience with at least 8-10 years supporting Middleware products (app server) and web servers.
- J2EE experience at the large scale enterprise system level.
- Extensive scripting experience in Jython, Python, YAML and Perl.
- Administration of Middleware using tools such as mDeliver, BladeLogic, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot Middleware products using various diagnostic tools.
- Experience with peripheral systems (network, load balancing/workload management, application development, operating system), and monitoring systems (Splunk, Introscope, Sitescope, etc.).
- Knowledge of industry security baselines.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both business and technical management.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management framework.
