TUMCREATE is a multidisciplinary research platform of the Technical University Munich (TUM) at the Singapore Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise (CREATE). We are joining forces with universities, public agencies, and industry for the advancement of future technologies.
Our large-scale Food Science ‘Proteins4Singapore’ program is funded by Singapore’s National Research Foundation (NRF). The Technical University Munich (TUM) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) join forces with the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation (SIFBI) to research plant-based proteins.

Job Purpose/Objective of the Position:
A full-time position at the TUM-CREATE is open for a Postdoctoral Fellow to fully characterize plant-based food materials. The selected candidate will work jointly at TUM-CREATE and Prof. Wang’s lab based in Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and has access to state of art facilities in both untargeted and targeted metabolomics analysis, including Bruker 600 MHz IVDR, Q-TRAP system, Waters Q-TOF UPLC-MS and TQ UPLC-MS. The ideal applicant must be self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic to their career development. Candidate will be expected to work independently and contribute to stimulating research programs within the group and school. This is a fixed term contract until March 2027 and we offer globally competitive salary for this position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Extraction food materials
- Develop methods to comprehensive analysis of the components in plant-based food materials, including, phenolic compounds, oligosaccharides, lipids.
- Preparation of research reports, presentations and publications in English.
- Supervision of undergraduate students.
Job Requirements/Competencies:
- PhD degree in Analytical Chemistry from a reputable university
- Expert in NMR and/or LCMS
- A strong record of peer-reviewed publications is necessary
- At least 1 year of experience in metabolomics with knowledge of common bioinformatic and
- biostatistical analysis tools
- Good communication skills and fast learner
- Self-motivated to drive the project and can work independently
- Able to develop new research program.
