JOB OUTLINE
We are currently recruiting a Ship Broker to NGSA or its related companies. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual with real passion for the above segment, and possess good knowledge and skills in sales, contracting, chartering, vessel operations, S&P and market intelligence in shipping companies.
The candidate is required to be bilingual in both English and Japanese language, with a proficiency level equivalent to JPLT N1 of the Japanese proficiency test in listening, speaking, reading and writing to communicate with Japanese clients and Tokyo HQ.
The candidate is also responsible to ensure that the daily business activities are in compliance with the NYK Group Credo and business policies. He/she reports to the General Manager and carry out co-leading functions of the division. He/she must ensure timely and accurate response to customers’request and liaise with each stakeholder (internal/external) for smooth coordination for all transactions.

Minimum experience: 7 years in shipping industries including;
· Minimum 3 years in sales, contracting, chartering and vessel operations.
· Good knowledge and skills in sales, contracting, chartering, vessel operations, S&P and market intelligence in shipping companies.
Working days: Mondays to Fridays, and Saturdays and Sundays if travelling is required.
Working hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm
Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, Social Science, International Relations or relevant discipline
Salary: S$9,000 to S$18,000 depending on experience
Job duty office add: 1 HarbourFront Place, #14-01 HarbourFront Tower One, Singapore 098633. Must be able to travel to subsidiary offices in Singapore.
Your duties essential for the job:
· Responsible for sales/chartering/profit & loss management/market intelligence for the vessels owned/chartered/operated by NGSA and/or its related companies.
· Manage/establish good business relationships with its existing and new clients in Singapore and Asia/Oceania region.
· Manage/establish good business relationships with vessel owners and financial institutions.
· Engage with external and internal stakeholders and coordinate each project and cooperate with them in achieving the missions.
· Experienced in commercial activity of chemical product tankers.
· Collect market intelligence relating to chemical product market, energy policies and situations in Asia/Oceania region, and report to relevant stakeholders, including NYK Group’s management/managers and NYK Line Tokyo HQ.
· Any other duties related to this role
Basic requirements:
· Good knowledge and skills in sales, contracting, chartering, vessel operations, S&P and market intelligence in shipping companies
· Basic knowledge of accounting, ship financing and cashflow analysis
· Ability to travel worldwide where necessary
· Bilingual in both English and Japanese to liaise with Japanese speaking customers and associates
· Attentive to details
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
· Positive attitude and ability to work under stress
· A team player with transparent working manner and willing to take ownership of an opportunity and hands on every aspect of the job
