Job Description;
- Prepare and cook large quantities of food according to standardized recipes and menu specifications.
- Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and texture.
- Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure it meets established standards.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handwashing, safe food handling, and cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, equipment, and utensils.
- Ensure proper storage of food items to prevent contamination and spoilage.
- Assist in managing inventory by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to the supervisor.
- Properly label and store food items to maintain freshness and comply with safety regulations.
- Use kitchen equipment and utensils safely and effectively.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any malfunctioning equipment or safety hazards to the supervisor.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely food production.
- Assist in training new staff members on kitchen procedures, food preparation, and safety practices.
- Help in adapting recipes or menu items based on ingredient availability or operational needs.
- Provide input for new recipes or menu changes based on seasonal ingredients or customer preferences.
- Ensure that all areas of the kitchen are left clean and organized for the next shift or operation.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
- Document food production processes and any issues encountered to assist with quality control and compliance.
- Adjust to changes in production needs or menu modifications quickly and efficiently.
Requirements;
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in a central kitchen, large-scale food service, or similar high-volume setting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and methods, including grilling, baking, frying, and sautéing.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Capacity to lift and carry heavy items.
- Good manual dexterity and stamina to handle the demands of a busy kitchen environment.
- Strong focus on maintaining consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Good verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors effectively.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on operational needs.
