Job Purpose:
To understand business purpose and logic, and develop database code that meet/exceed expectations in terms of meeting requirements, quality, timeliness, & completeness.
Responsibilities:
- To perform database stored procedures with T-SQL and MQL coding, testing and documentation in line with user & system requirements to deliver source code, documents and test scripts that meet clients’ needs.
- To perform index optimization and reorganization, archival and backup, for performance tuning of database to meet customer’s data needs.
- To act as gatekeeper for Java developer’s queries syntax and index used to ensure database always operate at the peak.
- To perform 3rd level support in and after office hours to ensure fastest possible recovery to service.
Other Duties:
- To ensure and protect company intellectual property (e.g. source code, documentation, etc)
- To ensure change request input information are complete and relevant to ensure smooth execution of project that meets requirements.
Skills & Requirements:
(A) Education
Diploma or Degree Holder – in Computer Science / Information Systems (or equivalent) from renowned tertiary institutions, with good results preferred Certification in the relevant technologies and skill-sets is a plus.
(B) Experience
- Minimum 5 years database stored procedure development experience, with real-time high-volume transactional database with complex business logic with MariaDB and MongoDB
- Extensive Sharding and Partitioning experience on Database for performance tuning
- Minimum 1 year experience in architectural and system design for high transactional web-based systems.
(C) Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge with complex transactional stored procedures and index design
- Strong knowledge in Database Administration and replication
- Strong knowledge in Linux tuning, storage technologies and networking latency
- Some working knowledge of ORM frameworks
(D) Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
- Able to work in a dynamic and ever-changing industry
- Able to effectively lead a team & solve problems, and cultivate team cohesiveness & teamwork
- Determined to stay at the forefront of technology development
