Linux/Unix Engineer - Patching and Vulnerability Management
Main purpose of the role:
To be responsible for the patching and vulnerability management of all Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX Server, Solaris VM and IBM VIO.
Roles & Responsibilities
Job Description
· System Administration of Linux/Unix environment:
· Working experience on RHEL/HP-UX/Solaris/AIX Servers
· Knowledge on Cluster management software
· Patch management and Vulenrability Management (Must Have)
· Troubleshooting skills in OS & Hardware related issues (Must Have)
· Extensive Experience in OS and Hardware/Firmware patching. (Must Have)
· Experience on Patch management tools like BigFix, SCCM etc. (Must Have)
· Perform Patch assessment and recommend/plan deployment.
· Experience on Automation of Pre and Post patching tasks.
· Hand-on knowledge on various RAID technologies (RAID 0+1, RAID 1, RAID 5 etc.) ( Should have basic knowledge)
· Knowledge on Clustering (geo cluster, multinodes passive/active) ( Should have basic knowledge)
· Bios upgrades and firmware upgrades.
· Knowledge on server management tools
· Log monitoring/maintenance
Skills Required
· 8-12 years of Experience in Linux/Unix System Administration
· Excellent Verbal and written communication skills.
· Good interpersonal Skills.
· The candidate should have worked in a SLA driven environment.
· Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented and constantly changing environment
· Able to work on weekends as per Roster and perform On-call support (during weekdays) as and when needed.
