Job Overview:
The Assistant Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation, and warehouse activities. This role supports the Logistics Manager in ensuring the efficient movement and storage of goods and materials, optimizing the supply chain, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Logistics Coordination: Assist in the planning and coordination of logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.
- Inventory Management: Oversee the tracking of inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Work with warehouse staff to conduct regular inventory audits and resolve discrepancies.
- Transportation Management: Collaborate with transportation providers to schedule and monitor deliveries. Address any issues that may arise during transit to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Supplier and Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners. Negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance to ensure quality service.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within logistics operations and work with the team to implement best practices that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Team Leadership: Assist in managing and mentoring logistics staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that departmental goals are met. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all logistics operations comply with local, national, and international regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the logistics team, ensuring that all activities are conducted in a safe and responsible manner.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on logistics performance, including key metrics such as delivery times, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency. Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Customer Service: Work closely with the customer service team to resolve any logistics-related issues and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
