What the role is
The Waste Infrastructure and Engineering Division (WIED) oversees the planning, engineering design and development of all NEA waste management infrastructure.
What you will be working on
The Senior/Executive Engineer will actively participate in the planning, development and management of future solid waste management facilities, including the integrated waste management facility and other recycling facilities that align with the targets outlined in the SG Greenplan 2030. The responsibilities and scope of work include:
- Develop various waste management facilities, with a focus on the integrated waste management facility, and secure planning approval and funding support
- Plan and implement project schedules to ensure timely execution
- Administer the procurement process to select and appoint project consultants and contractors, including the preparation of tender documents
- Manage consultants in conducting feasibility, preliminary design, and detailed design studies
- Supervise consultants/contractors and conduct site inspections to ensure timely and cost-effective development of waste management facilities in compliance with tender requirements
- Manage funding and budget planning cycles for projects
- Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders of projects
What we are looking for
- A degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Environmental Engineering is preferred. Applicants with a degree in other engineering fields and relevant work experience may also be considered
- At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in engineering is highly preferred.
- Knowledge in solid waste management systems, project management, and review of building plans and engineering drawings would be advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Demonstrate maturity, independence, resourcefulness, and self-motivation
- Adaptability to diverse work scopes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
