Position: Engineering Consultant
Job Scope:
Dynamic System Modelling:
- Develop and validate maneuvering models for marine systems.
- Create equations of motion for surface vessels and multi-body towed systems to prototype guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems.
- Model propulsion systems, steering effectors, and validate models using sea-trial data.
Autopilot Design:
- Design and prototype GNC solutions for remote and autonomous marine systems.
- Develop control systems, wave filters, and seakeeping guidance systems.
- Validate autopilot designs at sea.
Deliverables:
- Provide executable simulators and prototype autopilots with specified functions.
Documentation:
- Prepare technical documentation for models and autopilots, including:
- Modelling framework and equations.
- Functionality of developed autopilots.
- Block diagrams, flow charts, and user input settings.
- Best practices for effective and safe use.
Remote Training:
- Develop and conduct remote training sessions for engineers on maneuvering models and autopilot design.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Marine Engineering/Control Systems/Robotics/Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience on control system technologies & dynamic system modelling.
- Proficient in dynamic system modelling, including development and validation of maneuvering models.
- Hands-on experience with autopilot design, simulation tools, and control algorithms.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for delivering remote training sessions and creating technical documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
