(A) Job Summary:The Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing all insurance-related matters, coordinating information requests from insurers and medical concierges, and establishing strong working relationships with insurers, medical concierges, and clinic staff.
(B) Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Bill Estimation & LOG Issuance: Assist in providing bill estimates to insurers and medical concierges and manage the issuance of Letters of Guarantee (LOG) before patient admission.
- Coordination with Clinics: Work with clinics to facilitate the issuance of LOGs by insurers. Ensure that LOGs are obtained for all insurance guarantee cases; if not, advise patients to pay the bill in full upon discharge and seek reimbursement from their insurers.
- Inflight Case Management: Ensure all documentation is in order for inflight cases. Confirm that the coverage amount is adequate to cover the discharge bill. If not, request additional coverage from insurers before discharge.
- Discharge Management: Coordinate with Billing Office (BO) and Patient Services Centre (PSC) to collect non-covered amounts (e.g., companion charges, foreign insurers' admin fees, room differences) before patient discharge. Obtain preauthorization for any non-covered amounts if necessary.
- Final Billing: Work with PSC and BO staff to manage the final bill submission, including sending the interim LOG to the insurer and discharge summary.
- Report and Documentation Assistance: Assist insurers and medical concierges with requests for reports, bills, and discharge summaries to facilitate bill processing.
- Final LOG and Billing: Forward the final LOG provided by insurers/medical concierges to the BO Accounts Receivable (AR) team for final bill processing.
- Refund Processing: Process patient refunds via cheques and credit cards promptly.
- Medisave/Medishield Claims: Ensure timely and accurate billing submissions for Medisave/Medishield claims.
- Ledger Accuracy: Check ledger entries to ensure billing accuracy, including Letters of Certification.
(C) Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Workflow Improvement: Assist in redesigning workflows and processes based on best practices.
- Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor and/or management.
(D) Requirements:
- Education: Minimum GCE O-Level qualification.
- Experience: 1-2 years of related working experience, preferably with a background in healthcare or insurance.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
- Saturday or Sunday: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm
