[What the role is]

The Policy Planning Department (POPD) is responsible for the formulation of strategic policies related to environmental protection and public health.

[What you will be working on]

As Assistant Manager/ Manager/ Executive Manager/ Assistant Director for this position, you will work closely in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, and be involved in the following:

• Formulate and review key policies and strategies to achieve Singapore’s environmental public health objectives, taking into account factors such as global trends, technological developments, and research advancements.

• Support Senior Management to advance NEA’s strategic priorities, including aligning efforts across various Divisions and managing key inter-agency policy platforms.

• Coordinate preparation for Committee of Supply budget debates, replies to Parliamentary Questions, and legislative amendments.

• Participate in cross-departmental workgroups on environmental public health issues (e.g. smoking, vector control, etc).

• Other duties as assigned.


[What we are looking for]

The job might be for you if you possess the following:

• At least 1 - 2 years of experience in policy-making and/or environmental public health management and/or inter-agency work, would be preferred.

• Passion for environmental public health protection and adept at engaging both industry and public stakeholders.

• Adaptable and able to handle diverse work scopes.

• Highly self-motivated; resourceful, resilient and able to work under tight timelines.

• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Meticulous with an eye for detail.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge or experience with economic analysis/cost-benefit analysis would be an advantage.

• Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time.
