Job Summary
The Test Engineer is responsible for confirming test capabilities for new inquiries, developing the hardware, software, and test plan required for testing; inventory, maintenance and calibration of test instruments and related materials used for testing; maintaining environmental and safety compliance for testing, including ESD and EMI mitigation; development of efficient and cost-effective test methods; updating documents and verifying that the test and inspection processes are completed in conformance to company and industry standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Quoting to customer requirements and lab standards
- Developing test plans for electronic/electrical components and/or assemblies.
- Prepare and setup of test fixtures according to test plan
- Acquire required components and materials for preparing test fixtures and equipment
- Develop test platforms for related product families
- Attend seminars and training classes to state current on latest technologies and techniques
- Prepare test reports upon completion of testing within the stated or required lead time
- Provide support to inquiries and customer complaints related to testing
- Management and control of equipment, fixture, test accessories and spare parts inventory
- Management and control of equipment maintenance and calibration
- Management and control of environmental requirements for laboratory testing, including but not limited to; ESD, Humidity, Temperature, EMI and Radiation
- Management and control of documents and software for testing
- Approval of newly purchased equipment, facility installation, materials, service, and test methods in compliance to company quality standards
- Train, supervise and appraise Test Technician/s
- Conduct training to operators, company personnel, and customers as necessary or as required
- Communicate and engage with equipment and service suppliers, providers and contractors for training, warranty claim, repair, replacement, rental, and support
- Update and/or create procedures, work instructions, training guides, forms and related documents in accordance to company quality standards and policies
- Initiate and participate in process improvements
- Implement controls to ensure personnel safety during testing and in all areas of potential hazard
- Comply with company quality standards and policies
- Any other duties as required by supervisor and/or higher authority
Knowledge/Experience Requirements
- Must be hold a minimum of Bachelors degree in electronics engineering.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in electronics component or assembly testing
- Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, symbols and practical application
- Must have Level 4 proficiency in English (or equivalent).
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook)
