POSITION SUMMARY

The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to our manufacturing and oilfield services operations, which span across six countries. This role is crucial for ensuring that our global operations comply with relevant laws and regulations while addressing legal matters that arise in our diverse business environment. The Legal Counsel will work closely with various departments to maintain accurate legal documentation, conduct thorough legal research, and manage legal risks associated with commercial contracts, intellectual property, employment law, data privacy, and regulatory compliance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Legal Documentation & Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal documentation, records, and databases to support the company's global operations.
  • Legal Research: Conduct research on a variety of legal topics relevant to the company’s operations, including commercial contracts, intellectual property rights, employment law, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards to identify potential legal risks and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate with various departments to address legal issues impacting their operations and provide solutions that align with company objectives.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), supplier agreements, and service contracts, ensuring they align with the company’s interests and legal standards.
  • Document Preparation: Assist in creating, formatting, and proofreading documents, including letters, reports, memos, and presentations, to ensure accuracy and professionalism in all written materials.
  • Regulatory Guidance: Provide guidance on regulatory compliance and legal risks associated with the company’s global operations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and address potential legal issues proactively to mitigate risks and safeguard the company’s interests.
  • Deadline Management: Record and monitor deadlines, update status, and track internal databases/reports of relevant tasks and projects to ensure timely completion.
  • External Coordination: Coordinate with external legal advisors and service providers as necessary to support legal operations and obtain expert advice.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Carry out other ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned by the CEO, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to support various initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Law or related field required; Juris Doctor (JD), LLM or equivalent degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in a legal role. Experience in the manufacturing and oilfield services industry is preferred.
  • Proven experience in handling legal matters related to commercial contracts, intellectual property, employment law, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a global team, maintaining a proactive and results-oriented approach.
