Finance Manager
Meranti Power Pte Ltd (MP), a fully owned subsidiary of Energy Market Authority, is continuing to recruit additional new staff to manage and operate the nw power generating stations on Jurong Island. We are inviting applicants for the position of Finance Manager who shall report to the Head (Finance). The scope and requirements are as follows:
The Finance Manager is responsible for various aspects of the finance accounting and operations including Financial Reporting, Finance Operations (AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Inventory and GL), Internal and External Audit and Taxation.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Oversees all corporate accounting and finance functions and activities including treasury management, reporting and analysis and financial consolidation.
- Responsible for the timely monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities including reviewing and preparation of financial reports.
- Ensure that the financials comply with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards and provide accounting guidance to the team within finance and the rest of the company as required.
- Ensure that annual returns to relevant authorities are filed timely.
- Set, implement, and update financial accounting policies & procedures; ensure key internal controls are met.
- Plan and coordinate activities related to the annual budget and monthly forecasting process.
- Preparing periodic financial reports for management as required.
- Setup and lead existing system/process improvement projects to improve finance operational efficiency and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance to company policies for transactions processed by the accounting team.
- Identify and review operational gaps and proposed resolutions from front end to back-end operations with reference to financial and management accounting and internal control considerations.
- Responsible for corporate tax issues, corporate tax/deferred tax computations, corporate tax returns/filings, property tax and GST returns/filings.
- Review of Projects and Revenue Transactions for tax implications including, but not limited to, corporate income tax, GST and Transfer Pricing.
- Main point of contact and coordinator for the external auditors with regards to audit field works, meetings, and reporting.
- Ensure the annual external audit and statutory financial statements are completed timely with a clean audit opinion.
- Work with the internal auditors to ensure the periodic financial audits are completed smoothly.
- Continuously review business processes on ERP system administration and seek ways to improve on the efficiency and controls of the financial application and drive the implementation of those changes.
Requirements:
- Education in Accountancy and a certified CPA.
- At least 8-10 years of proven track record and experience in audit and accounting from the Big Four accounting firms or MNCs of which at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
- Prior experience in high-end ERP system (for example SAP or Oracle) is desirable.
- Candidates from oil and gas industry, complex utility infrastructure operation or heavy asset-based corporation will be advantageous.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Self‐motivated, results focused and willing to work under tight schedules with various stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
- A team player who can also contribute independently.
- Willing to work in Jurong Island. (Morning transportation pick up points available at different parts of Singapore.)
