Position Overview:
The Bakery Chef will be responsible for creating and executing a wide range of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other specialty items. This role requires creativity, technical skill, and an ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Menu Development: Create and design new bakery products and seasonal items based on customer preferences and market trends.
- Baking and Production: Oversee the preparation, baking, and presentation of a variety of baked goods, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Recipe Management: Develop and maintain recipes, including ingredient lists and preparation methods. Adjust recipes as needed for quality and consistency.
- Kitchen Management: Manage daily operations of the bakery kitchen, including staff supervision, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
- Quality Control: Ensure all baked goods meet the highest quality standards and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Customer Interaction: Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and preferences, and customize products as required.
- Cost Management: Monitor ingredient costs and manage inventory to optimize budget and reduce waste.
- Training and Development: Train and mentor bakery staff, fostering a positive and productive working environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 1-2 years of working experience as a Bakery Chef or similar role in a professional kitchen.
- Education: Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and food safety standards.
- Creativity: Ability to innovate and create new recipes and designs for baked goods.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
