Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Welding Engineer to join our team in Singapore, specializing in structural works within the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding technologies and processes, with a particular emphasis on structural steel fabrication and erection. As a Welding Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, quality, and safety of our welding operations on various construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Welding Process Management: Develop, implement, and oversee welding procedures for structural steel projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
Quality Control: Monitor and inspect welding activities to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) and other quality assurance measures as required.
Technical Support: Provide technical guidance and support to welding teams, including troubleshooting welding issues and optimizing welding processes for efficiency and quality.
Project Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure welding operations align with project timelines and requirements.
Training & Certification: Train and certify welders to ensure they meet the required skill levels and adhere to safety regulations. Conduct regular assessments to maintain high standards of welding performance.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, inspections, and certifications. Prepare and submit reports as needed to project managers and clients.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all welding operations comply with Singapore's workplace safety regulations and company safety policies.
Requirements:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding engineering, with a focus on structural steel works in the construction industry.
Certifications: AWS (American Welding Society) or CSWIP (Certification Scheme for Welding and Inspection Personnel) certification is highly preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficient in welding techniques, including SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW. Familiarity with welding codes and standards such as AWS D1.1.
Software Proficiency: Experience with welding simulation software and CAD software for structural steel design is an advantage.
Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interface with clients and other stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and safety in welding operations.
