Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support and maintenance for all backup systems, ensuring they meet the enterprise's operational requirements.
- Proactively plan for capacity and adjust configurations to ensure backup systems are scalable and perform optimally.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade backup-related hardware and software as necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation of backup policies, configurations, operational procedures, troubleshooting protocols, and service records.
- Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and compliance standards within the backup environment.
- Participate actively in audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Provide guidance on projects related to backup systems, including reviewing project plans, technical standards, and interacting with both internal and external teams.
- Serve as the initial escalation point for operational issues and requests related to backup systems, ensuring thorough follow-up and communication until resolution.
- Produce regular operations reports, updates, and metrics related to backup system performance and compliance.
- Provide standby support after office hours, weekend and public holiday.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8 to 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a focus on backup systems and solutions.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in storage administration and other areas, including sales and presales, systems installation, and solutions implementation and certification is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in backup systems, IT infrastructure, or ITIL is preferred.
- Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize configurations, and improve system performance.
- Project Management: Experience in managing multiple projects, controlling costs, and ensuring quality compliance.
- Compliance & Security: Familiarity with industry-accepted information security and IT standards, with a strong focus on ensuring compliance.
- ITIL Support: Experience in ITIL Service Support, including Incident, Problem, Change, Release, and Configuration Management.
- Strategic Planning: Ability to implement strategic plans for information systems and technology solutions, aligning with enterprise goals.
- Audit Experience: Experience interacting with auditors, risk teams, and management during audits and compliance inspections.
- Be able to commit standby support after office hours, weekend and public holiday.
Certification requirements:
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Acronis products and technologies and Acronis Certified Engineer (ACE) certification is preferred.
- Hitachi Vantara Certified Storage Administrator is preferred.
- Good Technical knowledge and skills for using Symantec solutions and certification in Symantec NetBackup preferred.
- Expertise in selling storage solutions to different market segments and NATSP Certification is preferred.
- Experience in rubrik to secure software platform to mitigate data loss with granular recovery and certification is preferred.
- AWS or Azure Certification is plus.
Technical requirements:
- Technical Expertise: Strong expertise in NetApp, EMC Unity, Data Domain, Hitachi, IBM DS, Veritas NetBackup, and Rubrik backup solutions.
- Operating Systems: Proficient in Windows Server (2003, 2008, 2012, 2016), Linux (Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu), and Cloud (AWS) environments.
- Directory Services: In-depth knowledge of Active Directory administration and management.
- Virtualization Platforms: Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and related technologies such as HA, DRS, DPM, vMotion, and distributed virtual switches.
- Storage Solutions: Experience managing various storage platforms including NetApp, EMC, and Hitachi storage solutions with NCDA and NCIE Certification is preferred.
- Experience in Cohesity Data Cloud Platform components and services with platform foundations certification is preferred.
