Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Operations Research, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia, with expertise in data manipulation and model development.
- Experience with optimization libraries and tools like Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools, or Pyomo.
- Strong grasp of optimization techniques, including linear programming, mixed-integer programming, and heuristic methods.
- Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) and their integration with optimization models.
- Proficient in data processing tools and frameworks such as SQL, Pandas, and NumPy.
- Skilled in using data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib) to effectively present findings and optimization results.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS) and deploying optimization solutions in the cloud.
- Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and their application to large-scale optimization challenges.
- Any other ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.
Analytical Skills:
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with a systematic and innovative approach to complex optimization problems.
- Ability to conduct deep data analysis and extract actionable insights from intricate datasets.
- Solid mathematical background in linear algebra, calculus, and probability, essential for understanding and developing optimization models.
Experience:
- Over 2 years of experience in data science with a focus on optimization problems. Experience in sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, finance, or technology is preferred.
- Proven track record of leading optimization projects from initiation to deployment, including model development, validation, and implementation.
