OCP Engineer - Patching and Vulnerability Management
Main purpose of the role:
To be responsible for the patching and vulnerability management of OCP Platform.
Roles & Responsibilities
OpenShift infrastructure engineer will be responsible for ensuring the uptime, performance and compliance of Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) in accordance to the bank standard.
This role will support and collaborate with Design, Change & Run team on top of Application and Development teams on OCP requirements, standards and the use, optimization and troubleshooting of all features in OCP & its tools.
This role will participate in technical discussions to share ideas and provide feedback in continuing the improvement of the Engineering team in areas such as cost savings, technology adoption & operational efficiency.
Plan the deployment & installation activities, upgrades, patches and disaster recovery test.
Provide L3 support for Red Hat OCP, which includes change, system administration, performance and availability management.
Provide deployment support and fixes of Red Hat OCP configuration and implementation.
Perform assessments and health checks of existing solutions and provide best practice recommendation and guidance to L2/L1 team.
Provide Technical assessment and advisory in relation to patch/system upgrade and migration of OCP environment, including the operators for OCP.
Assist/Escalate Red Hat OCP configuration & services and container issues, working in collaboration with other relevant IT areas and vendor support towards a quick and effective resolution.
Work with other technical teams including network or Wintel or IT Security or storage engineers and vendors, as necessary, to support system upgrade and maintenance activities.
Develop and maintain technical documentation related to design, configuration, usage, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, etc., for all OCP environments.
Provide scripts to manage the OCP environment.
Project management for enhancement projects
Requirements
Working experience with Red Hat OCP, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Image Registry, Microservices and DevSecOps in an enterprise environment
In depth familiarity with Container Platform, Dockers and Kubernetes.
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously among changing priorities.
Works well under pressure and can resolve complex problems.
Works in a collaborative fashion, elevates team results over individual results.
The candidate should have worked in a SLA driven environment.
Ability to work in a flexible, team-oriented and constantly changing environment
Able to work on weekends as per Roster and perform On-call support (during weekdays) as and when needed.
Minimum of 8 years experience
