Our client is a leading life insurance company, seeking a dynamic Finance Manager/Assistant Manager to join the team.
About the job
- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with IFRS 17.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of regulatory returns.
- Collaborate with various departments to analyze financial data and provide strategic insights to senior management.
- Assist in the transition to IFRS 17, including system updates, process changes, and staff training.
- Liaise with external auditors, including those from Big 4 firms, to ensure compliance and resolve any audit issues.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members.
Skills and experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS 17 is essential.
- Experience in the life insurance industry or with a Big 4 accounting firm’s insurance audit practice.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
