Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Management:Assist in drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts, including construction agreements, subcontracts, service agreements, and NDAs.
Maintain an organized contract database and ensure timely renewals, extensions, or terminations of agreements.
- Legal Research & Compliance:Conduct legal research on construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Monitor and report on legal and regulatory changes affecting the construction industry.
Assist in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including permits, licenses, and safety standards.
- Litigation Support:Assist in preparing documents for litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
Coordinate with external legal counsel on ongoing cases.
Organize and manage legal files, evidence, and exhibits for cases.
- Administrative Support:Manage the legal department's calendar, including scheduling meetings, hearings, and deadlines.
Prepare and format legal correspondence, memos, and reports.
Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain accurate records.
- Communication & Coordination:Liaise between the legal department and other internal departments, such as project management, finance, and HR.
Communicate with clients, contractors, and third parties on legal matters.
Coordinate with external legal firms, consultants, and government agencies as required.
Qualifications:
- Education:A diploma or degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field.
- Experience:At least 2-3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal, preferably in the construction industry.
Experience in contract management and litigation support.
- Skills:Strong understanding of construction law, contract law, and industry-specific regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
