Responsibilities
- Provide environmental control / enforcement support to the Environmental Monitoring and Management Plan (EMMP) Team.
- Monitor and verify that the EMMP is always adhered to, and corrective actions are implemented timely.
- Ensure that EMMP awareness training is carried out for contractor and subcontractor personnel as needed.
- Carry out regular site inspections, complete and compile inspection checklists, and prepare site inspection reports.
- To prepare, submit and present monthly EMMP reports throughout the construction works.
- Record findings, potential or actual incidents and non-conformances (if any) during onsite works.
- Where any environmental non-compliance is observed on site, provide recommendations to the respective Contractors for rectification.
- Maintain records of all activities/incidents concerning the EMMP, including a register of complaints on site and community comments and issues in a Site Register.
- Ensure proper waste handling and management practices to prevent attracting wildlife to the site.
- Attend regular project EMMP and EHS meetings.
- Assist with liaison with Authorities and other external bodies on EMMP matters.
- Maintain relevant site documentation that may include contractor permits, method statements, reports, audits, monitoring results, among others.
- Participate or lead EMMP incident enquiries.
Requirements
- Diploma in Environmental, WHS, Built Environment, or other related field.
- NEA Registered Environmental Control Officer with three years of post-registration experience in Specified Construction Sites.
- Good working knowledge of environmental policies, legislation, guidelines and standards and best practices.
- Ability to conduct inspections and audits to produce thorough, readable, and informative reports.
- Ability to manage public communication and complaints.
- Ability to compile and maintain documentation in an organized manner.
