Responsibilities
- Report to the Section Manager, System Engineering at basis level and to the Lead HVAC Engineer at project level.
- Implement Company work processes, procedures and quality policies as required by project.
- Adhere to Company contractual requirements, Scope Boundaries and support the Lead Engineer with the Management of change.
- Review and provide technical inputs on HVAC Engineering related technical matters to interfacing disciplines, in coordination with the Lead HVAC Engineer, during the development of design on projects.
- As a HVAC package responsible engineer, manage HVAC procurement package, in coordination with the Lead HVAC Engineer, during the development of equipment specifications, bid enquiry package, technical bid evaluations and provision of other necessary HVAC engineering inputs for the purchase of equipment / packages.
- As a HVAC package responsible engineer, facilitate coordination/ interface between HVAC package supplier with system and area Engineering disciplines , in coordination with the Lead HVAC Engineer, to ensure that the equipment and packages comply with the technical requirements of the project and to monitor the compliance to Client’s Basis of Design, Standards & Project Specifications.
- Manage supplier’s documentation on design documents as well as package related documents to ensure quality and timely delivery of the documents.
- Provide input to HVAC area engineering design on 3D modeling and ensure timely delivery of area HVAC ducting, equipment documentation, bulk and equipment MTO as well as input to area design, material handling and constructability reviews.
- Ensure that all risks related to his/her area of responsibility are identified, assessed and preventive measures are implemented in a timely manner when required.
- Be responsible for the progress of assigned HVAC Engineering scopes, the internal and external deliverables in line with project budget and schedule.
- Support the Lead Engineer on verification activities as required by the verification body / classification society or other applicable approving authorities.
- Represent the HVAC Engineering discipline during meetings, audits, verifications, workshops and technical reviews and be responsible for an effective and timely resolution of identified actions.
- Provide technical support related to HVAC Engineering at the fabrication site, whenever required.
- Ensure the technical integrity of all HVAC Engineering activities and deliverables for work performed through project lifecycle phases and for compliance to project specific performance, integrity, quality and HSE requirements.
- Continuously seek to improve working methods, tools and procedures and contribute actively to the HVAC Engineering Discipline development and experience transfer.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by his/ her supervisor.
Work Experience
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience having worked in a multi-disciplinary engineering setup for upstream oil & gas (Fixed and Floating installations) or Offshore Wind projects, having served in the capacity of an HVAC Engineer, having accrued thereof a minimum experience of 5 years in the capacity of a Senior HVAC Engineer.
- Must have prior work experience with medium/ large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream Oil and Gas sector or Offshore Wind Projects with similar roles and accountabilities and possess a good understanding of project phases, milestones, deliverables and internal & external interfaces.
- Must have design experience with development and/ or checking of typical HVAC Engineering deliverables, such as but not limited to, load calculations, equipment and duct and sizing calculations, HVAC Flow Diagrams, Design philosophies, Ducting & Instrumentation Diagrams, Equipment Datasheets, layout drawings etc.
- Must have a sound understanding and knowledge of oil and natural gas industry standards such as, but not limited to, ISO (International Organisation for Standardisation), SMACNA, DW HVCA, SOLAS, IMO, NORSOK, EU Directives and other relevant standards related to HVAC Design and Engineering.
- Must have strong computer literacy in commonly used business applications such MS Office, Commercial HVAC Calculations, 3D model review software, MicroStation etc. Familiarity with E3D, Magic-CAD and HVAC fluid mechanic simulation program will be an advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent engineering specialisation.

- Must have excellent technical communication (verbal and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams, client, technical authorities and verification bodies.
- Must have stong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with people at all levels.
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently, make sound decisions, analyse problems and provide focused solutions.
