The General Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Assists the Senior Vice President in performing engineering duties in finding, selecting, bidding and overseeing the business development of civil engineering projects.
- Be involved in planning and estimating of civil engineering works.
- Review design and technical specifications provided by clients and prepare comprehensive tender submissions for civil engineering project bids.
- Work collaboratively with team members in prequalification and bidding processes, ensuring thorough preparation of both technical and commercial bid submissions.
- Coordinate and manage all related business development matters with supplier / subcontractor / consultant / client.
- Supervise the company’s and its subsidiaries' bidding processes within the Asia Pacific region, ensuring alignment with planned award amounts.
- Execute any additional duties as assigned by the Vice President or President.
- Correspond with Tokyo HQ in any matters related to business development of civil projects.
Job Requirement (qualification, experience and skills):
- A Bachelor’s Degree in in Civil Engineering or its equivalent, preferably holding Professional Engineer or equivalent qualification.
- Proficient in both MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD
- At least 25 years working experience in Civil Project with at least 15 years in managing experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in construction and/or business development for civil engineering projects, in foreign countries within Asia Pacific Region.
- Currently part of the top management team (at least General Manager position and above) in the decision-making on tender strategy in the tender process and be competitive in securing new projects for the company. This include new client procurement strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Comprehensive understanding of authority requirements and engineering standards applicable in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Proven working knowledge and experience as a main contractor in civil engineering projects.
- Business level Japanese skill of at least JLPT N1 or equivalent to ensure accurate communication on Building Project business development and progress with Tokyo headoffice in Japan.
