We are currently looking to recruit a Paralegal to support our Legal team in Singapore, with a focus on disputes and data protection matters. The successful candidate will work closely with our Singapore-based Legal Counsels and will report to the Chief Legal Counsel of the Surbana Jurong Group.
Responsibilities
- Assist Legal Counsel in the management of legal disputes and other internal projects, including assisting with fact-finding, basic legal research, document review, and case management.
- Support the Data Protection Office in implementing the privacy program and help in managing the data inventory to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
- Participate in the review, procurement and design of IT solutions to improve department productivity.
- Organize and maintain the department’s document storage system and information portal.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the Legal Business Function, including preparing internal reports, taking minutes, managing calendars, and assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in law or equivalent qualifications/work experience in a relevant field (e.g. data protection, corporate investigations, compliance).
- 2 years of relevant work experience (previous law firm or in-house legal department experience is beneficial but not essential).
- Strong command of English (written / spoken); able to present ideas in a clear and succinct manner.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Meticulous, detail-oriented, resourceful, and eager to learn.
- Familiarity with Power Automate, Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications is especially desirable.
- This is a junior position open to candidates early in their professional journey or those seeking to make a mid-career switch. Admission to the Singapore Bar is not required for this role.
