Responsibilities:
- Assist in the monthly closing process, including preparing close reports and completing necessary journal entries.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and organize documentation for external auditors.
- Oversee and maintain fixed asset records.
- Generate financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly schedule.
- Handle vendor setup in financial systems.
- Undertake special projects as required.
- Carry out other duties and tasks as assigned.
Experience:
- CPA designation or progress towards obtaining it is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.
- Understanding of Fixed Asset reporting.
- Experience in the Transportation or Logistics industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables).
- Familiarity with financial software (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards).
- Knowledge of SAP is beneficial.
- Experience with Transportation Management Software is an asset (e.g., SAP, AS400).
- Strong dedication to providing high-quality, timely internal and external customer service.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
