Job Description:
- Lead and manage a team of six in the Accounts department, overseeing task allocation and resource planning to ensure smooth operations.
- Take overall responsibility for the preparation and review of periodic local MAS regulatory reports, such as MAS649 and MAS610, as well as surveys required by MAS and the Statistical Board, ensuring accuracy and timely submission. Address any queries and additional information requests from regulators.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of management and Head Office reports, including ad-hoc reports as requested.
- Review daily monitoring of MAS compliance ratios, including MCB, AMR, and MLA, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Manage the maintenance of the regulatory reporting database, regulatory data mapping, and any recurring or ad-hoc adjustments.
- Lead regulatory or financial change impact analyses and simulations related to changes in business activities. Initiate system change requests if necessary and conduct UAT to ensure compliance with MAS requirements.
- Take charge of change management projects or ad-hoc topics within the organization, including system updates, accounting changes, and continuous improvement initiatives such as streamlining and automation.
- Review periodic and ad-hoc financial reports to ensure strong internal controls and support management decision-making.
- Oversee the preparation of annual local statutory financial statements and disclosure items.
- Support external auditors by providing necessary information during statutory audits.
- Develop a solid understanding of general accounting control, including ledger accounting, accounting path setting, and daily reconciliations between the General Ledger and transaction details.
- Manage daily accounting functions efficiently.
- Lead projects such as system enhancements, the GST ACAP project, and the annual budgeting process.
- Ensure proper documentation for audit trails, maintain and update SOPs, and promote a balanced control mindset to operate effectively within the Accounts team.
- Handle all tax-related matters, including income tax and GST.
- Undertake any other ad-hoc assignments as required.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Degree in Accounting or a related field.
- At least 5-6 years of experience in the Banking industry.
- Experience with system enhancements, UATs, or projects is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to accurately and promptly submit reports.
- Capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in both English and Chinese to liase with client and vendor.
