Purpose of the position
● Repair and maintenance work for MacGregor product (crane) range, plus 3rd party maker if needed
● To ensure the work is carried out efficiently, accurately, in a friendly manner and supporting management and the rest of the organization in necessary areas
● To support Service overall goals and budgets
● Ensure that all activities comply with the Integrated Management System (IMS), QHSE and other rules and requirements according to MacGregor standards
Main tasks and responsibilities
● Professionally supervise and/or perform service activities (refurbishment, upgrades, inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective actions) on MacGregor and equivalent equipment
● Independent working methods
● Continuous development of one's own skills
General
To carry out the day to day activities as specified below:
● Provide information and write reports as required
● Establish and maintain good relationships with both internal and external customers
● Enable feedback from customers and the service market in general to reach the appropriate MacGregor organisation
● Stay up to date with relevant developments, routines, processes and news within MacGregor major customers active in business area
● Cooperate with the local MacGregor service network
● Comply with all relevant safety and quality requirements
● Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices and environmental requirements
● Recognize service and spares sales opportunities and communicate that to the relevant persons
● Support sales activities such as follow-up on leads and quotes while at site, as agreed with sales responsible
● Sharing of acquired job knowledge with the team as necessary
● Awareness of the profitability in the department
● Job management of the subcontractors
● Need to work irregular schedule with short notice at times
● Sometimes need to travel or follow with vessel for job assignment
Authority
● Make decisions about commercial matters within prescribed limits for each project, previously agreed with the Operations Manager or Superintendent
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
● Technical education or college level in electrical background or similar relevant experience
Experience:
● Min. 5 years’ experience with marine cranes
● Experience in the marine industry
● MacGregor crane or deck machinery knowledge is preferred
Competencies:
● English language, report writing and communication skills will be essential
