Our client, healthcare industry, is looking for a technician in the Ophthalmology. The person is tasked with delivering personalized, specialized, and cost-effective patient care while adhering to established hospital policies and procedures.
In addition, this role involves overseeing and ensuring the efficient operation of the imaging, perimetry, and scan rooms within the eye surgery center or department.
Furthermore, the Technician is expected to support the medical, nursing, and clerical staff by providing administrative and patient care assistance, contributing to a streamlined and effective clinical service for patients.
Job Responsibilities
- To conduct clinical tests / procedures for patients includes and not limited to
- Corneal Topography
- Corneal Pachymetry
- Visual Field
- IOL calculation
- Pentacam
- Endothelial Cell Count
- To carry out procedures and investigations as prescribed by clinicians.
- To demonstrate proper and economical usage of consumables, pharmaceutical and stationary supplies.
- To collaborate and co-operate with clinicians and other health-care providers in the smooth delivery of patient care and services.
- To develop the photo images for clinical examination purpose
- To maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Responsible for the inventory, storing, archiving and retrieval of photoslides and images.
- To be responsible for assisting slide presentations, photographic coverage during teaching seminars, conference, etc as required by the ophthalmology department / eye surgery centre.To participate in community screening initiatives set up by the ophthalmology department and Eye Surgery Centre.
Job Specification/Requirements
- Minimum NITEC Qualification. Fresh Grad welcome
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician with consistent good performance for senior position. .
- Possess good interpersonal, strong team spirit and communication skill.
- IT savvy and competent in MS word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- To display compassion, a positive and caring attitude towards patients, internal and external customers.
- Able to work in a fast paced environment.
