The Finance and Operations Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of the company. Reporting directly to the COO, this position requires a versatile professional who is equally comfortable with managing financial operations, streamlining processes, and solid understanding of financial regulation and MAS compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, operations, and MAS compliance, with the ability to effectively manage multiple responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate financial statements and manage the monthly closing of management accounts for multiple entities.
- Manage budgeting processes, cash management and liquidity to ensure optimal cash flow and financial stability.
- Handle all audit-related activities, from planning to reviewing financial statements and responding to audit queries.
- Review and submit corporate tax returns, GST submissions, and FATCA/CRS filings.
- Manage portfolio liquidity, currency exposure, trade funding, settlement, and position reconciliation.
- Review and approve the monthly and quarterly NAV prepared by the fund administrator.
- Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, tax agents, and compliance consultants.
- Actively participate in the fund launch process, including reviewing of fund documents, appointing fund administrators and account opening etc.
- Ensure compliance with MAS regulations, including quarterly and annual submissions, base capital monitoring, regulatory notifications, and handling ad-hoc surveys requested by the MAS.
- Handle KYC assessments and onboarding documentation for new and existing clients.
- Manage payroll, CPF submission, and employee tax forms (IR8A).
- Coordinate with the corporate secretary to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Address any ad-hoc or administrative matters that may arise from time to time, ensuring smooth operation and timely resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Qualified Chartered Accountant
- 5-8 years of finance and operations experience in family offices or CMS licensed fund management company preferred
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, including MAS guidelines
- Proven experience in financial management, fund accounting, and operational processes
- Familiar with the Section 13O and 13U tax exemption schemes in Singapore
- Take a proactive, hands-on approach to managing and addressing all responsibilities and challenges
