Vice Senior Manager, Product Planning Section

Rakuten Travel Xchange empowers both suppliers and sellers by offering an expansive global reach and enhancing revenue potential. It simplifies transactions, making it an efficient tool for businesses seeking to excel in the dynamic travel market.

The incumbent will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating various projects within our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Your primary focus will be on the Rakuten STAY Revenue Management System (RMS) development project and the Anshin Stay IOT operation project, while providing support for other initiatives such as Vacation STAY, SRS, RMS (PIOP), and the Rakuten STAY App.


Key Responsibilities


1. Project Coordination and Management:

• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

• Monitor project progress and performance, identifying and addressing any issues or risks that may arise.


2. Stakeholder Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and vendors.

• Facilitate regular project meetings, providing updates on project status, milestones, and deliverables.

• Ensure clear and effective communication channels are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.


3. Resource Management:

• Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure project success.

• Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve resource constraints and conflicts.


4. Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project charters, status reports, and change requests.

• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.


5. Management & Supervision:

• Lead people who perform project management duties involving cross-functional teams.

• Oversee plans and direct schedules as well as project budgets.

• Select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.


Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering).

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is often preferred.

• Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage relationships with stakeholders, clients, and vendors.

• Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve project issues and risks.

• Experience in leading and managing cross-functional teams.

• Minimium of 5 years of experience in project coordination and management.

• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.

• Japanese (Business level) as you will be required to communicate frequently with our Japanese counterparts.
