Job Functions:
• Assist the Project Manager to develop and implement the Occupational Safety & Health procedures
• Communicate WSH KPIs to the Site/Project Manager
• Providing advice and assistance on safety matters to all employees to ensure compliance to legal and other requirements
• Participate in the planning and design stages of projects for WSH matters
• Monitor compliance to WSH legislative requirements during projects, for safe work procedures/practices; liaise with the authorities on WSH matters
• Co-ordinate rehabilitation for injured workers
• Monitor the conduct of emergency drills
• Be involved in regular Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) meetings, including toolbox meetings; update and review changes to standards and processes where required
• Facilitate Mass Tool Box Talks on a timely basis
• Ensure correct and safe practices at all times and recommend Stop Work Order when unsafe conditions arise – including to promptly correct any unsafe conditions or unsafe work practices
• Review safety reports and inspections, and the implementation of control measures to correct any unsafe condition or practice
• Monitor the conduct of safety-related training programs to guide employees on importance of safety
• Communicate with the Project Manager on matters relating to environmental, safety & health, including safety performance
• Review and improve WSH practices, SOPs, guidelines for projects
• Lead by example and promote workplace safety and health at every opportunity
• Facilitate the maintenance of safety and health records, as well as the preparation for safety audits, as required under regulations
Job Specifications:
· Minimum education qualifications: Diploma in any field
· Minimum years of experience: 5 years work experience in New Build / A & A/ R &R
· Professional qualifications: Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health with Registered Safety Officer (MOM)
· Other related qualification: Work-At-Height for Manager, Environmental Control Officer (ECO) and Internal Auditor Certification will be an added advantage
· Possess knowledge and expertise on WSH Act(s) and its legislation
· Adept at Occupational Risk Analysis
· Proficient in facility monitoring and implementation of OSHA employee safety guidelines
· Good leadership and organisation skills
· Strong communication skills
