About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager (Watches & Fine Jewellery), you will drive the development and execution of merchandising plan, in line with the business’s strategic direction, retail priorities and commercial guidelines. You will lead sales forecasting, stock management and supply chain processes of Watches and Fine Jewellery (WFJ) for Singapore & the Export market, working in close collaboration with office, boutiques and Regional WFJ team.

BUSINESS STRATEGY

  • Participate in the construction of local market’s strategic plans and action plans to contribute to Regional WFJ ambitions.
  • Build mid to long term sales projections and budgets that are in line with local market’s strategic plans
  • Drive WFJ operations transformation and manage all related business / supply chain changes in local market. Lead the local implementation of new supply chain models, system, processes, and workflows in accordance with global and regional directions.
  • Communicate market’s WFJ vision and plans to regional WFJ Merchandising and High-end teams, ensure local needs and priorities are taken into account.
  • Build cross-department synergy—Retail, Marketing, Learning and Visual Merchandising.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance and sales trends. Prepare weekly and monthly business review reports.
  • Monitor new product launches, and formulate necessary action plans to support the launches, in partnership with other departments.
  • Drive Merchandising projects and new initiatives for local market to always seize new business opportunities.
  • Participate in global and regional projects, conduct necessary tests and provide local feedback.


FORECASTS, PRODUCT ASSORTMENTS & STOCK MANAGEMENT

  • Act as the advisor to local WFJ General Manager on business development opportunities related to stock, assortment and supply chain process enhancements.
  • Lead monthly sales forecasts and build model stock that are aligned to regional directions and guidelines.
  • Develop forecast simulations with regional WFJ Merchandising team to prepare for sales fluctuations.
  • Build product assortment strategy adapted to market needs (WFJ & fashion networks)
  • Manage and optimize local stock and inventory level by formulating necessary action plans, work closely with visual merchandising team to ensure the sufficient product visibility in all the networks.
  • Develop and monitor Stock KPIs (Forecast accuracy, stock coverage, overstock).
  • Build product performance review and stock management tools like tracking files, PowerBI dashboards.
  • Ensure Fashion synergy by promoting Fashion’s involvement in forecasts and orders for Fashion network.
  • Work closely with sales administration team on managing local operations, placing and tracking orders on products and sales tools e.g. packaging. Ensure timely deliveries to boutiques.


DRIVE HIGH-END BUSINESS

  • Work closely with regional high-end team on developing local high-end actions and fulfilling local high jewellery / high watch needs
  • Plan and manage high jewellery events and boutique routings—product selection, routing calendar.
  • Monitor and analyze high end sales— actual and to be invoiced (TBI) sales. Challenge and keep close tracking on retail’s TBI invoicing schedule, provide timely updates to regional high-end team.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts to global / regional high-end teams.
  • Manage daily transfers and operations of high jewellery and high-end watches.
  • Drive implementation of global / regional commercial policies and other high-end guidelines.
  • Work closely with boutiques on managing customer requests.
  • Work closely with after-sales service to drive local quality control processes and handle quality issues.


PARTNERSHIP WITH RETAIL

  • Provide strategic advice and develop action plans with retail team and boutiques
  • Conduct quantitative analysis on product actions and collect qualitative feedbacks from retail
  • Define KPIs and drive retail performance by identifying merchandising gaps
  • Propose monthly boutique sales target, with respect to sales forecast, trends and stock availability
  • Calculate WFJ monthly commissions and incentives in accordance with the commission scheme


PARTNERSHIP WITH FINANCE

  • Formulate annual and quarter budgets. Align with Finance on sales projections during each budget cycle and monthly re-forecast.
  • Work closely with Finance on any actions impacting Losses & Obsolescence (L&O), including Months of Coverage (MOC), staff sales planning, Merchandise on Loan (MOL)
  • Conduct annual high end consignment stock take in boutiques with Accounting in accordance with legal requirements
  • Review and develop business reporting and finance monitoring tools


PARTNERSHIP WITH IT

  • Conduct constant review of local processes and systems, propose needed improvements
  • Coordinate with IT on system development and enhancement projects, and manage projects roll out


SUPPORT TO INDONESIA

  • Work with the local merchandising team on action plans to build a healthy stock assortment, including review of stock coverage and model stock
  • Onboard the team on the Division/Regional guidelines/strategies on WFJ business, supporting on their local adaptation of this
  • Act as the advisor to the merchandising team in each forecast cycle and novelties planning
  • Share advise and best practice to the team that can improve efficiencies and processes

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in Merchandising, preferably from a luxury Watch and Jewelry Brand.
