Technical Superintendent
Responsibilities:
- Monitor vessel operational needs and repairs preventive maintenance to avoid down time and port state control issues.
- Coordinate with vessel operators for any repairs to be carried out that affects the vessel schedules.
- Arranging repairs and service as required and negotiating for competitive price.
- Planning and monitoring of vessel maintenance/repair/operational budget.
- Preparing of vessel dry docking specifications, budgets and reports.
- Supervise dry docking repairs and daily reporting of activities.
- Monitoring of vessel repair/maintenance/dry docking cost and updating to the management weekly and before departure.
- Preparing the vessel for class surveys, updating of survey status and maintaining vessel in Class
- Prepare vessel for SIRE/CDI/RIGHTSHIP inspection
- Vetting the vessel requisitions, quotation and approvals.
- Monitoring of vessel daily report, engine parameters, oil consumptions, Lub oil Robs status, work report done.
- Monitoring vessel lub oil consumption.
- Monitoring vessel lub oil sample analysis and advising the vessel for corrective actions if required.
- Vetting the fuel oil analysis results and advising the vessel if spec is not met.
- Monitoring vessel machinery R/Hs and PMS system.
- Prepare vessel for third party inspection and vetting vessel in coordination with Marine Manager, Marine Superintendent and the Master.
- Carry out vessel routine inspection and visits.
- Vetting of senior officers joining the vessel, signing off debrief and pre-joining briefing
- Vetting hot work-permit, risk assessment system
- Assessing into computerized safety management system for reviews.
- Carry out root cause analysis for technical break down reports, accident and incident.
- Carry out investigation for root cause of machinery breakdown and preventive measures
- To coordinate with underwriters surveyors, Class surveyors and repair company / yard for H&M / P&I matters. Compiling of cost and reports for submitting to underwriters
- Carry out pre- purchase S&P inspections
- Supervising taking over of vessel management as well as sales of vessel.
- Hands on experience and able to trouble shoot and motivate crews to perform duty respectively
- Willing to sail with vessel for short voyages and evaluate machinery problems and to plan for repairs to prevent stoppages and breakdown
Requirements:
- COC Class I Marine Engineer .

- Fresh sea going Marine Engineer with Chief Engineer experience looking to step ashore are encouraged to apply
