Job Summary:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and managing mechanical systems and equipment for construction projects. This role involves ensuring that mechanical systems meet design specifications, comply with safety standards, and integrate seamlessly with other building systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed designs for mechanical systems, including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems.
Perform calculations and simulations to ensure system efficiency and reliability.
Create and review technical drawings and specifications. - Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure integration and compatibility of systems.Monitor project progress and address any issues or delays related to mechanical systems.
- Ensure that all mechanical systems comply with local, state, and federal regulations and building codes.
Obtain necessary permits and approvals for mechanical installations. - Conduct inspections and testing of mechanical systems to ensure they operate correctly and meet performance standards.Implement and enforce quality control procedures throughout the construction process.
- Identify and resolve mechanical issues that arise during construction or operation.
Provide technical support and solutions to address system malfunctions or performance problems. - Maintain accurate records of design changes, system performance, and project documentation.
Prepare reports on mechanical system performance, project status, and compliance. - Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to understand project needs and provide updates.Facilitate meetings and discussions to ensure alignment and address any concerns related to mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one.
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engineering principles, and building codes.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC design software).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team environment.
