Job Summary

  1. Provide leadership, vision and strategy for growing and evolving Deposits product proposition.
  2. Governance, commercialisation, and overall P&L oversight for the Transaction Banking Cash deposits product portfolio that consists of Current Accounts, Savings Accounts (CASA) and Sustainable Proposition.
  3. Manage and enhance the product platforms in the portfolio to meet current and future needs.
  4. Manage and grow CASA deposits with a focus on operational balances (OPAC).
  5. Ongoing monitoring and optimisation of interest pricing at portfolio and currency level, including pass through rates (deposit betas). Disciplined pricing and deposit management is essential.
  6. Ensure that innovation around products and services are identified, developed and/or enhance to grow drivers, revenue and profits consistent with overall Transaction Banking strategy.
  7. Provision of forecasts, insights and trends around total and operational balances, interest margins, deposit pricing levels for management team and other groups of stakeholders.
  8. People leadership for immediate and broader team across product, technology and operations

Key Responsibilities

Product Capabilities
• Work closely with in-country Cash teams, functions and other Group Business such as Sustainable Finance team, to enhance and roll out product capabilities aimed at driving liabilities growth and improve Cash P&L.
• Engage with TB and Sales / Coverage partners in the regions / countries to identify client needs and structure deposit solutions to address client requirements.
• Develop client value propositions for rolled out product, with embedding value add to drive quality liabilities and deliver high yield.
• Work closely with Group Marketing to deliver quality product collaterals and thought leadership materials to enable Sales / Coverage partners to commercialise products.

Liabilities and Pricing Strategy
• Provide guidance and operational support to Country Cash Product teams in formulation and implementation of pricing strategy impacting overall profitability of liabilities portfolio.
• Advisory support to Country Cash Product teams, Credit Portfolio Management (CPM) and Group Liquidity and Balance Sheet Management (LBSM) on balance sheet and FTP matters impacting profitability of liabilities portfolio.
• Oversight over pricing level of portfolio within cost appetite and quality liabilities growth.

Processes
• Partner with Operations and Technology teams in improving / streamlining the process to improve operational efficiency around product and interest pricing setups.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures, for e.g. coordinating and streamlining Client Journey process.
• Provide advisory to Group risk functions on streamlining product governance related process, for e.g. new product roll out, Operational Risk Assessment (ORA) framework and PPG / Product Periodic Review (PPR) framework.

• Facilitate training to Implementation and Operations teams as required

• Take proactive initiative to address regulatory, reputational, and ethical matters.
• Take the initiative for providing proactive advice to clients as identified.
• Coach and manage the teams including working partners in risk related matters and ensure they are adequately trained and cognisant of regulatory, reputational and conduct risks.
• Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct and develop a robust culture to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.
• Ensure that risk related matters are remediated with immediate action and / or ensure adequate escalation to reporting manager and group / governance committees, as appropriate.

Governance
• Responsible for the management of Product Programme Governance (PPG)
• Work closely with risk functions (Conduct Compliance and Financial Crime (CFCC), Operational Risk, Reputational Risk) in establishing adequate product control and governance, within acceptable risk appetite, for e.g. Green Washing.
• Responsible for assessing and delivering to deliver effective Group governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
• Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
• Responsible for delivering ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 8+ years of relevant cash and liquidity products, deposit end to end product management (including governance and risk management) or corporate treasury management experience.
  • Knowledge of market trends and client needs in the liquidity product and corporate treasury space.
  • Understanding and appreciation of liquidity regulatory and control environment.
  • Experience in execution of deposit management and pricing discipline across multiple geographies.
  • Good appreciation of how technology can be harnessed for product and data solutions.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate multiple stakeholders to support a strategy or common goal.
  • Leadership skills demonstrating experience of operating successfully within larger cross-functional organisations.
  • Strong collaboration skills across the organization
