JOB SUMMARY

 

Responsible for and contribute in Group’s financial information system development and implementation, reporting and tax planning.

 

JOB TASK

 

1.         Financial management:

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness & timeliness of monthly financial statements including consolidates accounts and management accounts including EXCO, Board papers, Quarterly Announcement, Annual Reports (including review of journal entries).
  • Ensure compliance to Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRSs) Accounting and Tax, Companies Act Standards guidelines / provisions.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports (Board papers, EXCO papers & etc) as required by Head of Group Finance (HOGF)

 2.      Budgeting, Planning & Projections:

  • Lead in preparing, checking, revision & complication of Annual Group Budgets.
  • Preparation of projected financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Account and Cash Flow) for corporate exercises, fund rising, rating review exercise & etc.
  • Compute and evaluate company’s valuation in changing environments.
  • Understanding and application of the accounting standards, tax regulations, listing requirements & etc. To report promptly to HOGF & SMO on major impact to ALR Group, if any.

 3.      Fund Management:

  • Monitor fund requirement for the Group by identifying impact of the high-risk variables (traffic, expenses & interest rates) to the Group cash flow in short, medium and long term.
  • Monitor and administer compliance to loan covenants.
  • Involve in corporate exercise for new loan.
  • Monitor placement of excess fund to achieve maximum yield.
  • Keep abreast with money market development and identify opportunities for maximizing resources and cost savings.
  • Review cash flow reports, checking of payment vouchers and journal vouchers and administration of treasury Department.

 4.      Audit & Tax Compliance:

  • Leads in financial audit & ensure adherence to audit reporting timetable and liaison with auditors.
  • Ensure timely & accurate tax planning and compliance to all tax requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness and adherence to policies for periodic reporting, accounts, reconciliation and internal & external reports.

5.      Policy, Process & procedures:

  • Ensure compliance to existing policy and procedures as well as ISO & other relevant standards.
  • Actively review and identify process bottleneck and recommend for improvement including automation of processes.
  • Lead in inter-department liaisons in developing process and procedures and documentation of those policies and procedures.

 6.      Staffing:

  • Independently plan, delegate and supervise subordinates work.
  • Assist in recruitment including interview and recommending to HOGF.
  • Provide on-the-job training, monitoring and motivate staff development and morale

7.   To act as relief for other executives or subordinates or as when required.

8. To perform other duties that may be assigned by immediate superior/HOGF from time to time.

 

 JOB REQUIREMENT

  •  Degree / Professional Qualification with MIA membership or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literate, good presentation skills, professional knowledge. Strong financial management skills, including budget development, monitoring, and cost optimization
  • Sense  of urgency, integrity, teamwork, communication & commitment.
