Job Purpose

An opportunity to join the world’s largest privately owned insurance broker, in an environment which continually helps its people to grow and achieve their ultimate potential.

This role sits within the Singapore finance department which is responsible for regulatory, tax, financial and management reporting and which works closely with other finance teams in Asia including the regional finance team.

This role is to help the Finance Manager ensure that all aspects of the Finance department are run in a professional and compliant manner and in line with Lockton’s code of conduct and terms of business.

The incumbent of this role will be responsible for assisting the financial reporting team in bookkeeping, processing of payments, performing reconciliations and aiding in other financial reporting duties.


Job Description

Regulatory & Tax reporting

  • Support the preparation of reporting to external stakeholders such as MAS and IRAS.

Financial reporting

  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process.
  • Assist in the annual external audit process.
  • Help to maintain accurate ledgers through the production of balance sheet reconciliations and analytical information to ensure appropriate treatment.
  • Preparation of monthly journals in line with appropriate policies.
  • Adopt a continuous improvement mentality regarding processes, reporting and controls.

Management reporting & business partnering

  • Assist in the budget process.

Accounts Payable

  • Processing of payments for corporate expenses and recording these accurately in the general ledger.


Requirements

  • Experience within a Finance department in the financial services or service industries is preferrable.
  • Strong academic background, educated to degree level at minimum.

Competences

Industry know-how

  • Preferrable exposure to Insurance industry, but strong Financial Services considered.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with IRAS Tax requirements and IFRS/SFRS.
  • Good understanding of balance sheet reconciliation and book-keeping.
  • Proficiency in accounting software is desirable (i.e. Peoplesoft).
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and ability to quickly prepare high-quality reports and analyses for management (e.g. in MS Powerpoint).

Communication Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • Highly dynamic & possess excellent communication skills; with can-do attitude to work diligently to achieve tasks; work with detail and patience.
  • Demonstrate ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
