- Participate in the design, development and modification of mechanical system in conventional and non-conventional vessels including offshore vessel/ rig.
- Perform mechanical calculations such as equipment sizing, pipe sizing, heat load calculation, hydraulic pressure loss calculation for piping & ventilation
- To ensure the mechanical system designs (machinery layout & piping schematics) comply with classifications rules, marine/ offshore regulations and vessel/ rig contract specification
- Prepare documentation for drawing list, equipment list, piping material estimation etc.
- Familiar with marine system operations.
- Competent on marine system sizing, engine room / machinery space arrangement, system design and preparation of technical specification
- To prepare equipment specification and material request form for procurement use
- Liaise with equipment vendor, vessel/ rig owner representative, classification society surveyors and other relevant authorities to resolve technical issues as and when required.
- To review and approve the vendor certified document and drawings.
- Support in tendering for all ship types.
- Develop 2D engineering drawing using CAD software.
- Experience and familiar with LNG system design, rules and regulations.
- Familiar with various classification rules (ABS, BV, DNV, LRS and etc) and regulations (MODU, SOLAS, API, etc).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in Marine/ Offshore Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in basic design and engineering of relevant to construction of Marine/ Offshore Units.
