Organize social and physical activities, and liaise with external vendors to organize events/activities for the clients. Actively engage with volunteers and community groups to aid in activities and achieve organizational goal.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, organizes, implements and evaluates the programs and services which are offered at the senior centre.
- Determines program needs through target group assessment; plans and coordinates special events to enhance the quality of life for senior participants.
- Works with community agencies and resources on the provision of services and coordination of existing programs.
- Works with private and public funding sources for additional funding, writes grants for programs or capital expenditures.
- Manage PR for all programs; develops program publicity, brochures, flyers, newsletters and news releases.
Location & Working Hours
- West Area, West Coast
- Mon - Fri, 9am to 630pm, Weekends if necessary.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in relevant fields.
- Minimum 2 to 3 years experience as a recreation leader or related experience in a public or private recreation program, involving the planning, scheduling, implementation and supervision of recreation programs for senior citizens.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
- Be prepared to perform other duties as assigned.
