Job Description:
The Finance Executive will be responsible for managing the financial operations of a portfolio of vessels, ensuring compliance with accounting rules and legislation. This role requires a meticulous and hands-on team player with extensive experience in the shipping industry, particularly in vessel handling and analytical reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts, tax, and GST reporting, and be proficient with the DANAOS/SHIPNET accounting module.
Key Responsibilities:
Adhere to HSSEQ policy and procedures. Prepare a full set of accounts for the assigned portfolio of vessels up to monthly closing for review with the Senior Accountant. Issue invoices for each client according to contractual agreements. Upon supervisor approval, submit invoices to clients and monitor timely payments, reporting any potential discrepancies. Monitor the financial position of assigned vessels, executing all accounting transactions (invoices, expenses, payments, payroll, etc.) and updating respective accounting ledgers. Perform bank reconciliation and check bank recon. Review and check the master’s month-end cash statement. Upon approval, promptly settle all accounts/payments related to vessels to support smooth operations. Produce and submit periodical financial reports of assigned vessels to senior management. Review actual costs against budgets and inform the Senior Accountant of budget variances. Assist the Senior Accountant in the timely preparation of yearly company financial reports. Process all accounting entries and develop analytical monthly accounting reports according to Arcadia's requirements and processes, providing management with the necessary information.
Qualifications:
· Diploma in Accountancy/Finance, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
· Minimum 4 years of accounting experience specializing in vessel handling and analytical reporting from the shipping industry.
· Experience in the Shipping/Ship Management industry is a must
· Experience with the DANAOS/SHIPNET accounting module is preferred
