Job Overview:
The Drafter is responsible for creating detailed electrical drawings and schematics for our projects. The role involves producing accurate technical designs, updating as-built drawings, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Drafter works closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to ensure that all electrical designs are accurately represented in the project documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and layouts for SMRT projects, including wiring diagrams, electrical panel layouts, and system integration plans.
- Interpret technical specifications and engineering designs to create accurate and precise drawings.
- Update existing electrical drawings based on design changes or project modifications, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Ensure that all electrical drawings meet SMRT and regulatory standards, including compliance with the Singapore Building Code, Electrical Wiring Code, and relevant SMRT guidelines.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and project managers to clarify drawing requirements and resolve design issues.
- Assist in the preparation of tender and construction documents by producing the necessary electrical layouts and diagrams.
- Perform revisions to drawings as needed based on feedback from engineers or project stakeholders.
- Maintain an organized database of all project drawings, ensuring version control and proper documentation for future reference.
- Participate in project meetings to discuss drawing requirements, updates, and any technical issues related to electrical designs.
- Ensure timely delivery of drawings to meet project schedules and deadlines.
- Conduct site visits (if required) to verify existing conditions and ensure drawings reflect the actual site conditions.
- Support in the coordination between different teams (e.g., mechanical, civil) to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs with other systems.
Requirements:
- Education: Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting electrical designs, preferably with experience in rail or large infrastructure projects.
Experience working on SMRT or other similar transportation projects is an advantage.
- Skills:Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or other drafting software.
Knowledge of electrical design standards, including the Singapore Electrical Wiring Code and relevant SMRT guidelines.
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications and designs.
Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Good communication skills for working with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Working Conditions: Primarily office-based, with potential site visits to SMRT stations or project locations as required.
